Emma Stone
Emily Jean "Emma" Stone was
born on the 6th of November in 1988 in Scottsdale, Arizona to Krista Jean Stone
(nee Yeager), the homemaker, and Jeffrey Charles "Jeff" Stone, a
contracting company founder and CEO. Stone is of Swedish, German and British
Isles descent. Stone began her acting career as a child as a member of the
Valley Youth Theatre in Phoenix, Arizona, where she made her stage debut in an
adaptation of Kenneth Grahame's "The Wind in the Willows". Through
her teens, Stone was in a variety of other shows until she made acting her
career. Informally, she developed a PowerPoint presentation, which was backed
by Madonna's "Hollywood", and entitled "Project Hollywood",
to convince her parents that she should leave school and relocate to Los
Angeles. After the presentation was accepted, she and her mother relocated to
LA. She continued to study at home and was able to audition. Her TV debut came
when she was cast as Laurie Partridge on the VH1 reality show In Search of the
Partridge Family (2004). The show was followed by a few minor TV roles over the
years. Her debut film was Jules in Superbad (2007) and, after a string of great
performances, her lead role in the film Olive in Easy A (2010) established her
as a rising star. In Phoenix, Arizona, she went to Xavier College Preparatory.
Although she's known as a redhead, her real hair color is blonde. Judd Apatow
was the one who suggested that she change her natural hair color for Superbad
(2007). The film was so well-received that she chose to keep her hair. She
persuaded her parents to allow her to move to Hollywood when she reached the
age of 15 by creating a PowerPoint presentation appropriately titled Project
Hollywood. She began her career in acting at 11 years of age in the Valley
Youth Theatre in Phoenix, AZ, where she played in over 16 stage productions ,
as well as performing in the theatre's comedy improv troupe. Caylee Cowan was
also an actor at the Valley Youth Theatre.
