Allyson Felix

Allyson Michael Felix is an Los Angeles native born on the 18th of November, 1985. Paul Felix, her father was an ordained minister of Master's Seminary Sun Valley. Marlean Felix worked at Balboa Magnet Elementary School. Felix realized early on that she was gifted to run when she was a student at Los Angeles Baptist High School. After a few weeks of the first attempt she made, she was ranked second for 200m in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix finished high school and signed an official contract to Adidas. In 2004, she was enrolled at her first year at the University of Southern California, which is where she studied elementary education. A year later Felix was awarded her very first Olympic medal during the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece making a junior world record by taking 200 metres within 22.18 seconds. The 2005 Helsinki World Championships saw her become the shortest woman ever to be crowned the winner of the 200-meter race. In 2007, she won this title and beat her Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix participated at her first Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro and Tokyo consistently placing within the top three in all her races.
